(1) 2023 Taiwan International Marine and Fisheries Industry Exhibition (August 31 - September 2, 2023)
Professor Ing-Jer Huang led the National Sun Yat-sen University "AI Smart Shrimp Farming Team" to showcase the "AI Underwater Image Monitoring System." The research team demonstrated practical applications of shrimp growth monitoring and feeding analysis across various aquaculture fields.
(2) Field Research in Vietnam: AI Shrimp Farming (May 10-17, 2023)
Led by Professor Ing-Jer Huang, the National Sun Yat-sen University's "AI Smart Shrimp Farming Team" responded to invitations from two Vietnamese aquaculture companies. The team conducted on-site demonstrations in Vietnam, showcasing the cloud-based AI underwater monitoring system developed by their team.
Company 1: Intelfood, Hsian City
The research team successfully demonstrated shrimp and feed measurement and recording both during the day and at night. This information allows the company to understand shrimp growth trends, detect anomalies, and implement precise feeding strategies. The teams from both sides are actively discussing possible collaboration to introduce interdisciplinary technological aquaculture models to Vietnam.
Company 2: Sinhai Aquaculture, Binh Duong Province
The research team engaged in discussions with Sinhai Aquaculture on the long-term validation and optimization of their smart aquaculture monitoring technology. This technology enables real-time monitoring and data analysis of shrimp farming in the cloud, contributing to the scaling of their operations.
(3) 2022 Taiwan Aquaculture Industry Exhibition and Conference (November 10-12, 2022)
A Bountiful Harvest at the 2022 Taiwan Aquaculture Industry Exhibition and Conference!
The team exhibited equipment, cloud services, and aquaculture case studies and delivered special presentations.
The highlight of their presentation was offering a complete hardware and software integrated solution, demonstrating how AI-based analytics can assist in managing aquaculture facilities. Examples included feeding strategies, growth distribution, health monitoring, risk reduction, yield enhancement, and debunking aquaculture management myths.
The team had the opportunity to connect with potential users, industry stakeholders, academic researchers, international companies, alumni, and friends. The three days of the exhibition were filled with numerous discussions and interactive exchanges.
Team members demonstrated, welcomed visitors, and engaged in discussions here, honing their communication skills and teamwork. We also had close discussions with like-minded friends about the direction and division of labor for potential entrepreneurial endeavors.
(4) 2021 Taiwan International Fisheries Exhibition (December 2-4, 2021)
Thanks to the cooperation of the National Sun Yat-sen University team members, the team successfully exhibited their shrimp farming underwater image monitoring system at the International Fisheries Exhibition in the Nangang Exhibition Hall 2. Visitors showed great interest, and there was ample time for discussions, providing valuable feedback and suggestions.
Reporter Ms.彭宣雅 from the United Daily News interviewed the team, and the article was published in the United Daily News Electronic Edition. A special thank you to the team!
